John R. Thomas III:

John Thomas has been a member of the Bosshardt Realty Commercial and Land Division since January 2000.  In the spring of 2001John had a vision of bringing Gainesville into the world of urban living.  His vision became what is now known as University Corners.  This $200,000,000.00 development is leading the way for many additional projects being designed and built in the subdivision known as College Park.

John was born and raised in Gainesville.  After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Marketing, he attended Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida where he pursued a Masters Degree in Accounting.  John spent twenty-nine years in the forest products industry with Georgia Pacific Corporation, a Fortune 100 Company.  John decided it was time for him to pursue a new career, and he moved back to Gainesville.  Having been a real estate investor for over thirty years made him a natural for commercial real estate sales.

The Viet-Nam era veteran spends any spare time with his family.  John has been happily married to his wife, Diane, for thirty-three years.  They have two sons, Josh and Matt, and recently acquired two daughter-in-laws, Kristen and Tiffany, and one grandson, Trey.  The family also includes two dogs and two horses.  Though sometimes perceived as low key, John has a dedicated competitive attitude.  Having coached over sixty athletic teams and competed on the karate circuit for twenty-three years, John understands the word “commitment”.

While his real estate career has only been seven years, John has been a Multi-Million Dollar Producer and a member of the President’s Club. He was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year and the Top Total Listing and Selling Agent in 2005 and Top Selling Agent in 2006.  John has assisted developers locate both commercial and residential development sites, assisted major corporations such as Eckerds, Walgreens, Target, Wal-Mart, Publix, Gate Petroleum, Huddle House, and many others.

John’s willingness to be “Patient, Polite, and Persistent” has often paid off when dealing with unlisted properties and sellers not willing to sell.
